MSAS Director, Jose Lugo-Martinez's Lab Publishes Work in Cell Reports Methods

scResolve is a computational method to enhance the resolution of Spatial Transcriptomics. Spatial transcriptomics maps gene expression in tissue sections, revealing cell organization within their natural context. Many techniques lack single-cell resolution, capturing collective gene expression from mixed-cell populations. scResolve recovers expression profiles of individual cells at their locations from the low-resolution spatial transcriptomics data. With the enhancement of resolution, we showed that we can tackle important biological problems, including identification and characterization of rare cell populations, and capturing the cellular heterogeneity within the same cell type.
